Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Lindy and Flash

Now that 2025 is nearly over, Lindy and I wish you all a full and fulfilling 2026.

For my first two Christmases, I was well looked after by my puppy parents Debbie and Mark.

I will experience my first Christmas with Lindy’s family. There will be excitement, lots of food and hanging out with my four-legged cousins.

In the meantime, my predecessor Guide Dog Comet is up there helping Santa pulling his sleigh to ensure all the children in the world get their presents.

Since I joined Lindy’s household in January and qualified Lindy as my handler, some of the activities we have undertaken have included:

  • Descriptive tours at the National Gallery of Australia;
  • Audio described shows at the Canberra Theatre;
  • Descriptive tour of the Pompeii Exhibition at the National Museum of Australia;
  • Filming at the National Film and Sound Archive;
  • Featured in ABC TV news on inaccessibility around Canberra City;
  • Holiday with my puppy raisers while Lindy competed in the Inaugural Para World Championships in Berlin;
  • Helped present accessibility training session at the Dragon Boat club house;
  • Helped Lindy present at Corporate, community and University events;
  • Participated with Lindy during August in the Pawgust walk for Guide Dogs;
  • Flew to Brisbane for my first plane trips and had a holiday in Brisbane and Bunyan Mountain with Lindy;
  • Helped Lindy steer the Dragon Boat;
  • Saw the 21 Hearts play at the War Memorial;
  • Assisted in access consultations at the War Memorial and other venues;
  • Enjoyed Rediscovering Music sessions given by members of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra;
  • Attended the Tech in Govt expo; and
  • Attended a Tactile Galaxy Night to learn about the universe at Mt Stromlo Observatory.

Gosh when I list it all out it shows that I have been very busy whenever I’m not flat out sleeping.
Now I’m looking forward to an even more exciting 2026.
